The 2009 Giant Cypress is probably the best value hybrid on the market!
This may seem an extravagant claim, but it really is unbelievable value for money. You get a lightweight, comfortable bike with a great gear system, adjustable suspension, and even a really comfortable saddle at a ridiculously low price.
The aluminium frame and components really add up to a brilliant package. The suspension in the forks and seat pillar are both adjustable, which means you can set them to suit your weight and riding preference. If you wish to cruise along enjoying the scenery, unconcerned about performance, just doing some gentle exercise, you will probably set the suspension on a soft, plush setting, whereas if you are wanting to get to work quickly, having left just a few minutes later than you should have, the firmer setting will get you moving somewhat faster.
It is actually a great looking bike, available in 1color silver, with a high quality, durable paint finish.
It is simple to operate because it has a Shimano drive system, which gives smooth gear changing under a wide variety of conditions. Basically this means that when you start climbing a hill, it is much easier to change gear than on a cheaper system, and when there is less load it will be smoother than the cheaper one. The 27 gears have a wide range, so it doesn't matter whether you live in Brighton or Healesville, the gear range will be suitable.
Overall the bike is extremely good value for money, as I said at the beginning, my understanding is that it is the best on the market. So if you want to have a bike that rides really well and will not put too great a hole in your pocket, this is the bike. I am prepared to back up this statement with a money-back guarantee. If you aren't completely satisfied with the bike after say...3 months I will give your money back, or put that value towards a higher quality bike if you choose.
